1. Keep it simple

If you’re not a big fan of Halloween or if life is just too busy to go all out with the decor, keep it simple.
This is one of my favorite Halloween tablescapes, and it’s just a few simple touches.
I used black and white striped fabric for the tablecloth, added some black and white pumpkins, and used a few pieces of the Spooky Night set.
To finish off the look, I made some simple place cards with black card stock and a white paint pen. I love how it all came together!
2. Add some color

Whether you’re going for a more muted look or you’re all about the bright and bold, don’t be afraid to add some color to your Halloween tablescape.
This simple table setting is a great example of how to add color in a more subtle way.
The black candlesticks and the pop of orange in the flowers add just the right amount of color to this tablescape.
You could easily add more color to this look by using a colored table runner or by adding colored glassware.
3. Make it spooky

If you want to go all out for Halloween, then this is the tablescape for you.
This table is full of vintage and antique Halloween decor that’s sure to give you some inspiration.
This table has a spooky, yet sophisticated, feel to it. The black and white color scheme is perfect for Halloween and the vintage decor adds a unique touch.
4. Use pumpkins

Pumpkins are a staple for any fall tablescape, but for Halloween, you can add some extra flair to them.
I used a gold paint pen to draw designs on my pumpkins, and I love how they turned out!
You could also use spray paint, or just use a variety of colors to add some fun to the table.
I also added in some black pumpkins, which I found at my local craft store, to add a bit more of a spooky feel.
5. Make it elegant

I love the idea of hosting a fancy dinner party for Halloween. You can still have all the creepy crawly decor, but add in some elegance with your tableware.
I used a black and white color scheme with a few pops of orange.
I love to mix patterns so I used a buffalo check table runner and then used a black and white striped placemat.
I also used a few different plate designs to add some interest to the table.
6. Use some black

Black is the color of Halloween, so it makes sense to use it in your decor.
I love the look of black and white together, so I added a black and white runner to my table. I then added black candles and candlesticks to my table.
Black and white buffalo check is a popular pattern to use in fall decor, so I added a few black and white buffalo check pumpkins to my table.
I also added a black and white check napkin to my place setting.
7. Make it fun

We have a lot of fun in our house, and I love to decorate our dining room to reflect that.
I’ve never been one for a scary Halloween, so I tend to lean into the fun, colorful, and whimsical side of things.

I love how the black and white tablescape makes the colors in the dishes really stand out.
I also used a few fun Halloween-themed items like the witch hat napkin rings and the spooky words banner.
8. Use some candles

Candles are a must when it comes to setting a spooky Halloween table! You can use real candles or battery-operated ones.
I love using a mix of both to create a unique look.
To add some height to the table, I used these black candlesticks and these skull candles.
I also used some of these black tapers in my gold candlesticks.
I love how the black candles pop against the white table and the gold candles bring out the gold in the plates!
9. Make it scary
If you really want to go all out, make it scary.
You can still keep it elegant with your decor, but add in some scary elements like a bloody handprint, a spider, or a skull.

Add in some black and white plates with a few skulls and you have a scary, yet elegant table.
10. Use some flowers
I know I said flowers are not the only way to add some color and life to your table, but I had to include them!
If you are a flower person, then you know that flowers can go on any table, any time, and in any way and they will be perfect.
I love the pop of color that these flowers bring to the table. I also love the contrast of the soft flowers with the rest of the black and white decor.
