10 Mothers Day Crafts for Kids Ideas

Mother’s Day is a celebration of the women who gave us life, mothers, mother-in-laws, and even grandmothers or step-mothers.

So much of the holiday is geared around the idea of giving gifts. This year, consider having your children make a gift for the special women in their life.

Here are some fun and easy Mother’s Day crafts that you can make with your kids.

1. Make a Handprint Flower Bouquet for Mom

This handprint flower bouquet is perfect for preschoolers to make for their moms.

They’ll love being able to get a little messy with the paint and glue, and you’ll love how much it looks like a real bouquet of flowers!

This craft is also great for kids who don’t have a mom to celebrate on Mother’s Day. They can give the bouquet to a grandmother, aunt, or any other special lady in their life.

2. Make a Handprint and Footprint Flower

This is a classic craft that kids have been making for years. It’s the perfect way to capture how small your little ones’ hands and feet are.

All you need is some paint, paper, and a little creativity. This craft is simple and fun, and it’s perfect for kids of all ages.

3. Make a Mother’s Day Card with a Special Bouquet Inside

If you want to make a special Mother’s Day card but you don’t want to use paper, this is the perfect card craft for you! You can write a special message on the back of the wood and then glue a bouquet of flowers on the inside of the card.

This is a great way to make a homemade card that is extra special.

4. Make a Mother’s Day Card with a Special Photo Inside

Use a recent photo of your child to make a special card for mom.

The photo can be of the child by themselves, or with mom if you get a chance to take a special photo just for the card.

If you have a photo printer, you can print the photos at home.

Or you can print them at a local photo lab or drugstore. Most places that print photos will also print a 5×7 photo card for you.

If you don’t have a photo printer, you can order 5×7 photo cards from Shutterfly and pick them up from a local drugstore in as little as an hour. You can also have them shipped to your house.

Once you have your photo, you can glue it to the front of a blank card, or print it directly onto a photo card.

Then, have the kids decorate the inside of the card with markers, stickers, and drawings.

You can also add a sweet quote or poem to the inside of the card. Here are a few of my favorites:

• “Home is where your mom is.”

• “A mother’s hug lasts long after she lets go.”

• “The influence of a mother in the lives of her children is beyond calculation.”

• “Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.” – Robert Browning

• “To the world, you are a mother. To your family, you are the world.”

• “You are the greatest gift from the heavens, filled with love and care for all your children and the entire family.”

• “There’s a reason some people think they can achieve anything. They listened to their mother.”

5. Make Mom a Handprint Apron

This is such a cute idea and would be a great gift for a mom who likes to cook. You can use a store-bought apron or make your own with some fabric and ribbon.

Use fabric paint to make a handprint design on the apron. You could make just one handprint or make a pattern of handprints.

You could also use a stencil to paint on the word “Mom” or “Grandma” or whatever the special mom in your life goes by.

Mom will love getting a special keepsake with a handprint or footprint from her child.
